Are your products vegan/cruelty free/bio?
Yes! All the products I use are fully vegan friendly and cruelty free.
I am gradually getting through my current glitter and replacing all of them with 100% biodegradable glitter. The same sparkle, but less micro-plastics!
The products I use are: Cameleon paints, Diamond FX paints, Global paints, Stargazer glitters, The Face Painting Shop glitters (bio), and Stargazer glitter fixer.
A conscientious face painter is a good face painter.
Can you paint at my charity/school event for free?
No. I fully appreciate that charity events and school events have little to no funding, but as a professional and a business, I'm afraid I cannot offer my services for free.
Sometimes, if it is a large event with a guaranteed high footfall (e.g. Pride events, festivals, etc.), then I can charge a small booking fee and charge customers instead. But this is rarely the case for charity and school events. Full details here.
How long does it take you to paint somebody?
This will often depend on the design and how well the person sits still, but I rarely go over 5 minutes per person, per design.
This allows me to paint between 10 - 15 kids/people per hour, so please bear this in mind when deciding how long you would like to book me for.
NOTE: Minimum 2 hour booking
How did you learn to face paint?
I learned from my mum! She, too, is an artist and would often face paint for village fetes. I tagged along as a kid and helped out where I could. She eventually gave me all her face paints and I practiced on myself and my friends.
I am also a full-time freelance illustrator, which has given me the artistic ability to be able to paint complex and unique designs with relatively little practice beforehand.
How far can you travel?
As far as is needed! Of course, travel costs are always reflected in the hourly rate I charge. If you have something in mind already, please fill out a booking form with all the details and I'll let you know if it's possible or not.
